Following the recent tensions between Iran and the United States, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, made strong and decisive statements declaring that the era of proportional responses to US attacks has come to an end. He stated that any aggression from the United States will be met with a heavier and more painful response.
Iran's Future Responses
In a press conference, Qalibaf emphasized that Iran can no longer respond to US threats and attacks with a mild approach, adding: "Past experience has shown that diplomacy and negotiation are not sufficient in the face of military threats. We must make the enemy understand that the cost of any aggressive action will be severely paid."
These statements come at a time when tensions between the two countries have increased, especially following recent military attacks and economic sanctions. He also warned Iran's regional allies that "Iran will stand by them and will strongly support any aggressive actions."
